By wearing purple, you will be supporting the recognition that abuse towards older adults is everybody’s responsibility. Share this with other organizations and challenge them to raise awareness and knowledge that abuse to older adults must be recognized and that services are out there to assist families, services providers and older adults! We are encouraging individuals, communities and organizations to let us know what they are doing to recognize World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. Our goal is to have 100 events across Manitoba on June 15, 2010. Although the possibilities are endless this may include a presentation, an intergenerational event, wearing purple ribbons representing elder abuse or having a coffee break with discussion information about elder abuse.
